NETCONOMY Summit 2026: NEXT is NOW

On 18 September, close to 500 colleagues from across Europe filled Messe Graz’s Halle A for the NETCONOMY Summit 2026. This year’s strapline, “NEXT is NOW,” set the tone for the day: the future is already here, and it does not wait for anyone to catch up.

Our CEO Martin Barzauner opened the day with a message that captured exactly why we chose that slogan: “Agentic AI is set to have an unprecedented impact on our economy and society. Work which in the past required human intervention can now be moved into the agentic layer with human guidance and oversight. Our role as NETCONOMY is to use our expertise and experience to guide our customers towards this agentic enterprise vision, since the standard way of doing business will not be sustainable going forward.”

A Morning Built on Momentum

After breakfast and some catching up, the day’s program started with back-to-back keynotes from our leadership team. Martin Barzauner walked us through where NETCONOMY stands today and where we are headed next, before handing the stage to our guest keynote speaker, Barrett Conway, Key Account Director for SAP at Google. Having Barrett on our main stage says a lot about where NETCONOMY sits in this ecosystem, as we continue to nurture deep, long-standing relationships with both SAP and Google.

Our COO Martin Bachler, HR lead Benedict Stacke, CFO Andreas Schilk, and ERP practice lead Patrick Pierron each took the stage to give colleagues a clear view of the business, from where we are growing to where we still have work to do.

Our Chief Customer Officer, Eric Schreiner, closed out the leadership block: “What makes NETCONOMY special is our ability to create maximum value for our customers thanks to our end-to-end approach which includes ERP, CX, and data and AI solutions. This means that we offer not only the deep knowledge of all three areas, but also the business context and drive needed to ensure our customers always win on the market.”

Learning From Each Other, All Afternoon

Once lunch wrapped up, the afternoon belonged to our colleagues. Eighteen sessions ran across three stages, all led by NETCONOMY people sharing what they have learned on real projects.

The topics ranged from the practical to the personal. On the AI side, colleagues covered everything from the newest Gemini Enterprise features to complex machine learning projects a reminder that at NETCONOMY, we get excited about new tools without losing sight of what actually works. Others tackled the softer side of consulting life, talking about stakeholder management and complex project environments.

And then there were the sessions that could only happen at NETCONOMY: one colleague compared client transformation projects to escort missions in video games, and another shared eight years of running an ice hockey league’s broadcast infrastructure as a side project.

Closing the Day Together

Our CEO closed the formal program by celebrating and thanking colleagues who have been with us for over 10 years, and have grown with NETCONOMY over that time. From there, the day shifted gears entirely: colleagues took on our team racing challenge, Formula Netconomy, before sitting down together for dinner and wrapping the day like we always do – with a party.

Why This Day Matters

The NETCONOMY Summit is the one day a year where colleagues from ten offices across six countries invest in each other by sharing what they know, celebrating what we built, and setting the pace for what comes next together. That is what “NEXT is NOW” means to us: we don’t wait for the future to arrive. We build it, one Summit, one project, and one colleague at a time.
