NETCONOMY Opens a New Chapter by Partnering with Waterland

We are excited to announce that Waterland is joining NETCONOMY as a co-shareholder. With this partnership, we want to build on the attributes our customers already value and develop NETCONOMY into a leading SAP-focused player for end-to-end digitalization in Europe.

As one of the most active European strategic investors, Waterland has made numerous investments in the digitalization, IT, and telecommunications sectors. Their interest in cutting-edge technologies makes them a natural partner for NETCONOMY’s future to grow by investing in innovative products and making strategic acquisitions.

NETCONOMY founder and CEO, Martin Barzauner, will continue to lead the company together with the existing Management team. In the course of the partnership, ownership of the company will be shared between Martin Barzauner and Watlerland. “We have found the ideal partner in Waterland for the next phase of our growth and our expansion strategy. We share strong entrepreneurial values and a passion for our industry segment. Waterland impressed us with their in-depth understanding of the industry as well as their responsible, partnership-based investment approach. We look forward to working with the Waterland team to develop our service portfolio and offer our customers even more extensive solutions in the future” comments Martin.

Since its founding in 1999, Waterland has supported over 1,200 ambitious companies and is currently managing around 14 billion euros in equity capital. Their support and industry expertise will help NETCONOMY scale up our operations to provide holistic solutions that will serve as the foundation for future-proof business models.

Gregor Hengst, Managing Partner at Waterland, adds: “NETCONOMY is one of the market leaders in a highly sought-after area of digital transformation. At a time of changing consumer preferences and sales strategies, omnichannel strategies and a deep understanding of the customer base are more important than ever. We look forward to supporting NETCONOMY in further expanding the company’s position as a leading SAP partner in Europe. Together we will also explore new markets.”

Marc Schwarz, Principal at Waterland, adds: “With its focused business model, technological expertise, and strong customer relationships, NETCONOMY is in an outstanding position to continue its development through organic and inorganic growth. We look forward to supporting their talented, exceptional team on its success journey.”
