Every year, we bring our whole company together to celebrate everything we’ve achieved in the past year, reflect on what we’ve learned, and see colleagues and friends we don’t have a chance to see as often as we’d like.
This year’s NETCONOMY Summit was organized with the strapline of ‘Looking beyond the Horizon’, and here are just a few highlights from the event.

At NETCONOMY, we believe that for innovation to thrive, you need people who know and trust one another. But, nurturing that strong sense of teamwork can be challenging when working across 10 locations and with many colleagues working remotely. That’s why every year, we host an internal event called NETCONOMY Summit in our hometown of Graz.
This event brings our whole company together – that’s almost 500 people – for a chance to celebrate everything we’ve achieved in the past year, reflect on what we’ve learned, and see colleagues and friends we don’t have a chance to see as often as we’d like.
This year’s NETCONOMY Summit 2023 was organized with the strapline of ‘Looking beyond the Horizon’, and here are just a few highlights from the event.
Celebrating Achievements
We kicked off the day with keynotes from our management team, where we celebrated the past year’s accomplishments. This is a time for us to recognize and appreciate our colleagues’ hard work and dedication.
NETCONOMY CEO Martin Barzauner opened with a keynote where he mentioned that, despite the significant volatility of the market, NETCONOMY is in a great position to take advantage of new opportunities created by breakthroughs in enterprise-level generative AI. He recognized we are entering a new period of change, which will require us to transform with our customers.
Our partners from SAP and Google also joined us for the day. In his keynote, Alex Timlin (Chief Expert for Customer Experience and CRM, SAP) highlighted that SAP’s success is closely connected to their network and partners like NETCONOMY, who are at the cutting edge of innovation. He also underlined SAP’s commitment to generative AI technologies and noted its partnership with Google.
We also took this opportunity to be open and reflect on things we would need to improve moving forward and how we can work together to stay in the lead. The best reflection of this is our ‘Blue Couch’ session, where the whole company has a chance to ask our management team anything and everything and get honest answers on the spot.
Learning and Growing Together
After the keynotes, our colleagues took to the stage across five learning zones. This allowed them to share their knowledge and expertise with other colleagues and learn something new.
We were happy to see many different departments taking part and covering a wide range of technical and soft-skill topics.
From sessions on generative AI and composable commerce to panels on life-long learning and workshops for the extroverted introverts among us – there was something for everyone to take part in and enjoy.
In addition to formal presentations, there were plenty of opportunities for informal networking and team building. Throughout the day, colleagues from different departments and locations got to know each other better.
This strengthens our sense of community within the company and promotes collaboration across teams. This is especially crucial for colleagues who work closely together but are located in different countries, so are missing those daily ‘watercooler moments’.
Fun and Relaxation
At NETCONOMY, we work hard but also know how to have fun. The Summit is not just about work; it’s also a chance to relax and enjoy some downtime with our colleagues. From team activities to delicious food and drinks, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Our favorite this year was the giant ball pit in the middle of the common area, and from the photo below, we think our colleagues loved it.
As is tradition, we finished the Summit with a bang – a party that lasted well into the night. This allowed our colleagues to show off their dance moves and squeeze a bit more fun into an already electric day.
The NETCONOMY Summit is more than just an event; it’s a reflection of our company culture and values. Through celebration, learning, and collaboration, we come together to strengthen our team and continue driving innovation. We look forward to many more successful Summits in the future!
